To be honest, I spent most of the evening fanning myself with my program and nursing a headache, like most of my fellow Grand Circle seat mates. Because a small table fan on the floor of the landing does not count as air conditioning. Nonetheless, I’d like to offer an appreciative shout out to Kwang-Ho Hong - I suspect he doesn’t get nearly as many of those as he deserves:)
And~ Kwang-Ho played the piano while singing this song!
Hong Kwangho (Thuy in the Miss Saigon revival in the West End) singing Billy Joel’s “Honesty,” from the live recording of his concert last year. I couldn’t NOT share, the man is amazing, and I have to stop listening to this track before I cry.
Several other good tracks, including renditions of “Music of the Night,” “‘Til I Hear You Sing,” “This is the Moment,” etc… but this song was the first to jump out at me.
In this song, he seems a little more restrained in his vocals than on other tracks - he really flies in “‘Til I Hear You Sing,” for example - but it’s so emotive and heartfelt. Please listen and enjoy!!
I just watched Kwang-Ho singing Dulcinea from Man of La Mancha and I think I melted a little bit. Wow, what a voice. He is seriously underused in this production. His voice seems fit for Phantom as well.
